Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

The following forms the terms & conditions for print & product orders placed with Chatsworth Print Services by you, the customer.

Print ordering
All print orders are accepted subject to these terms & conditions.
If you place a print order with us you will be deemed to have agreed to the following terms.
To consider a product to have been ordered, we must firstly receive payment for the order unless otherwise agreed previously.

Design work
We offer a design service for all printed products in our range, if required. The cost for this is in addition to the cost of print, supply & delivery of the product and will vary depending on the product ordered.
When our design service is used a proof will be supplied for approval. It is the customer’s responsibility to check every aspect of the proof, including spelling, punctuation etc. and ensure it is how you want the finished product to look. If any amendments are required, please let us know all changes that are necessary, we will implement the changes and provide another version of the proof. We will provide up to three proof versions at no additional charge, after which additional fees will apply to cover the time spent on the design of your artwork.
When the artwork is to your satisfaction, please give us your approval in writing, by email, or by a Facebook/WhatsApp message, so that we have  evidence of receipt.

Customer supplied artwork
If you are supplying your own artwork, please ensure it is a correctly set print ready file to avoid any additional charges.
Print ready files for standard print products should be in PDF format with:-
Colour profile: CMYK
Resolution: 300 dots per inch
Bleed: 3mm
Safe area: 3mm

These requirements can vary depending on the product ordered, so please ask for those that apply to your order if you’re not sure.

Incorrect supplied artwork
In most cases, if artwork is supplied that does not comply to the print requirements for the product ordered, we can help. Our designers can usually correct the artwork, however an additional fee will apply for the extra work undertaken.
Where we have been involved in the design of your print product, we will usually supply a proof for approval and the terms given in ‘Design work’ will apply.

Supply of images, logos etc.
Any images, logos, icons etc. that are supplied by the customer for inclusion in the design should be high resolution and of sufficient size & quality for the product ordered. Poor quality image unsuitable for use can be replaced with stock images, however they are usually from image supply agencies and are required to be purchased. We will however use the limited choice of free images, wherever possible.

Colour
Colour rendition will vary depending on the paper stock used. Slight colour variation throughout a print run is to be expected.

CMYK
Our printers will always do their best to match the colours as specified in your print ready files. However, for us to be able to do this you must use professional standard design software (Adobe products, etc) and your files must specify CMYK colour values. We do not consider colour profiles to be a very reliable means of specifying colour. We do not guarantee to colour match to your printer or monitor or any other colour standard you may supply.

Legality of content
We cannot be expected to read and verify the truthfulness, honesty and legality of any material we print for you and should the content of your job result in any court action or prosecution or liability of any kind then the responsibility is entirely yours and you agree to indemnify us fully should we incur any costs or damages in this respect.

Right to refuse
We reserve the right to refuse to accept an order or to reject any partially complete order without reason given. This especially applies to situations where we consider the material to be derogatory, indecent, libellous, racist, inflammatory or designed to mislead the public or promote any illegal activity.

Limited liability
Our liability for any loss or damage incurred by you or any third party for whatever reason will always be limited to the invoiced value of the goods only. We do not accept claims for consequential loss however caused and we expect you to verify that any goods we supply are suitable for your purpose before they are used.

Customer’s right to cancel
Customers may cancel any order you place with us at any time. However, once you initiate and start using our services and we have begun to incur expenses in reference to your requirements, we reserve the right to invoice this amount and, where necessary, deduct these costs from any refund made.
In particular, this clause applies to any design or other work undertaken that results in the order not being completed. Design is a bespoke product and incurs a certain amount of time and labour undertaken on the customer’s behalf and under their instruction.

Invoicing
We will supply a VAT invoice for work that has been completed.

Payment
Our terms are payment when placing the order unless we have specifically agreed otherwise in writing.
We will pursue all instances of non-payment for the full amount invoiced plus any costs incurred in collection.
We won’t invoice or ultimately require payment for work that hasn’t been done or costs that haven’t been incurred – see “Customer’s right to cancel” above.

Intellectual property rights
Any design work we have completed or partially completed on behalf of the customer, including any amendments, modifications, enhancements etc. shall remain the property of Chatsworth Print Services until the invoice is paid for in full, at which time it becomes the property of the relevant customer.

Contract between us
The contract between us is subject to and will be interpreted in accordance with English Law. Since we only accept work on the basis of the terms here stipulated any transaction between us shall be deemed to incorporate the above terms and conditions which shall take precedence over all other conditions unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

Delivery of the order
We use various methods to deliver the product to our customers, some within our control and some outside, but we’ll always do our best to live up to the promise we made when accepting your order.
Unfortunately problems can occur during production and/or delivery, so please accept that the agreed delivery schedule is an estimated target date.

Deliveries by courier
We deliver products throughout the UK and, to be able to do so, we use the services of couriers to dispatch to you as quickly as possible. Our main delivery partners are DPD and Fedex.

When the order has been collected from us the responsibility and contract for delivery passes to the courier company used. We will always assist our customers as much as possible with late or non-delivery of items when necessary, but please contact the courier company in the first instance, to see if they can assist.
It is they who have assumed responsibility for delivery as well as liability for any non-delivery or damage to goods. Chatsworth Print Services cannot be held responsible for late or non-delivery of products or damage to products in these instances.
